Welcome to Alumhub. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of Alumhub's website, applications, and services (collectively, the "Services"). By accessing or using our Services, you agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy.
If you do not agree to these Terms, you may not access or use our Services. We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time, and your continued use of the Services constitutes acceptance of any changes.

Parents and guardians are responsible for supervising their children's use of the platform. As a mentorship platform connecting students with alumni, we strongly encourage parental awareness and oversight of minor users' activities on our platform.

You may only create one account. Creating multiple accounts may result in suspension or termination of all accounts.

You retain ownership of content you post on our Services. By posting content, you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use, reproduce, modify, adapt, publish, translate, distribute, and display such content in connection with providing and promoting our Services.
You represent and warrant that you have all necessary rights to grant this license and that your content does not violate any third-party rights.
We reserve the right, but are not obligated, to monitor, review, remove, or modify any content at our sole discretion. We may remove content that violates these Terms or is otherwise objectionable.
The Services, including all content, features, functionality, software, and design, are owned by Alumhub and are protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, or lease any part of our Services without our express written permission.
Alumhub, our logo, and other marks are trademarks of Alumhub. You may not use our trademarks without our prior written consent.
If you provide us with feedback, suggestions, or ideas about our Services, you grant us the right to use such feedback without any obligation to you.
Your privacy is important to us. Our collection, use, and disclosure of your personal information is governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference.
Alumhub offers a Pro subscription service that provides access to premium features, including but not limited to:
Pro subscriptions are billed monthly at $15 per month and automatically renew unless cancelled. Subscription fees are processed through Stripe, our payment processor.
By subscribing to Pro features, you agree to pay all fees associated with your subscription. Fees are charged in advance on a monthly basis. You authorize us to charge your payment method for all subscription fees and any applicable taxes. Payment must be made through our designated payment processor (Stripe).
You may cancel your Pro subscription at any time through your account settings or by contacting us. Cancellation will take effect at the end of your current billing period. You will continue to have access to Pro features until the end of the billing period for which you have already paid. No refunds will be provided for the current billing period, except as required by law or as otherwise specified in these Terms.
Subscription fees are generally non-refundable. We may, at our sole discretion, provide refunds or credits in exceptional circumstances, such as technical issues that prevent access to Pro features for an extended period. All refund requests must be submitted within 30 days of the charge date and will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis.
We reserve the right to modify subscription pricing at any time. We will provide at least 30 days' notice of any price changes. Your continued use of Pro features after the price change becomes effective constitutes your acceptance of the new pricing.
If a payment fails or your payment method is declined, we may suspend or cancel your Pro subscription. You are responsible for maintaining a valid payment method on file. If your subscription is suspended due to a failed payment, Pro features will be disabled until payment is successfully processed.
Our platform includes a marketplace where verified alumni mentors can offer mentorship services (such as tutoring, coaching, essay review, etc.) to students. Alumni are responsible for the accuracy and completeness of their service listings. We reserve the right to remove or modify any service listing that violates these Terms or is otherwise objectionable.
When transactions occur through our marketplace, we charge platform fees:
Platform fees are deducted from the payment before funds are disbursed to the service provider. Fee rates vary by plan and may be updated from time to time; we will provide notice of any material changes.
Alumhub facilitates connections between students and alumni mentors but is not a party to any transaction between users. All transactions are solely between the student (buyer) and the alumni mentor (service provider). We are not responsible for:
Users are encouraged to communicate clearly about service expectations, pricing, and delivery terms before engaging in transactions.
Pro alumni receive payouts within 24 to 48 hours of completed transactions, while free alumni receive payouts within 5-7 business days. All payouts are subject to verification and may be delayed if we suspect fraudulent activity or Terms violations. Service providers are responsible for providing accurate payment information and any applicable tax documentation.

Our platform includes AI-powered features designed to match students with relevant alumni mentors based on interests, goals, and compatibility. You acknowledge and agree that:
Our Services may contain links to third-party websites or services that are not owned or controlled by Alumhub. We are not responsible for the content, privacy policies, or practices of any third-party sites or services. You acknowledge and agree that we shall not be liable for any damages arising from your use of third-party services.
Our Services integrate with third-party payment processors (such as Stripe) for subscription and transaction processing. Your use of such payment services is subject to the terms and conditions of those third parties.
Our Services include messaging features that allow you to communicate with other users. You acknowledge that:

We may take the following actions if you violate these Terms:
You may terminate your account at any time through your account settings or by contacting us. Upon termination, your right to use the Services will immediately cease.
We may suspend or terminate your account at any time, with or without notice, for any reason, including if we believe you have violated these Terms or engaged in conduct that is harmful to other users or our Services.
Upon termination, we may delete your account and content, though some information may remain in backups or as required by law. Provisions of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination will survive.
THE SERVICES ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

YOU USE THE SERVICES AT YOUR OWN RISK. WE ARE NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY USER CONTENT OR THE CONDUCT OF ANY USERS.
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, ALUMHUB, ITS OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, AGENTS, AND AFFILIATES SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS OR REVENUES, WHETHER INCURRED DIRECTLY OR INDIRECTLY, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA, USE, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES, RESULTING FROM:
IN NO EVENT SHALL OUR TOTAL LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ALL CLAIMS EXCEED ONE HUNDRED DOLLARS ($100) OR THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE PAST TWELVE MONTHS, WHICHEVER IS GREATER.
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Alumhub, its officers, directors, employees, agents, and affiliates from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, costs, expenses, or fees (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from:
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles.
Any dispute arising from these Terms or the Services shall be resolved through binding arbitration in accordance with the American Arbitration Association's rules, conducted in California, except where prohibited by law. You waive your right to a jury trial or to participate in a class action.
Either party may seek injunctive or equitable relief in court for matters involving intellectual property or confidential information. Small claims court actions may also proceed in lieu of arbitration.
We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated Terms on our website and updating the "Last Updated" date. Your continued use of the Services after such changes constitutes your acceptance of the new Terms.
These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Alumhub regarding the Services.
If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect.
Our failure to enforce any right or provision of these Terms will not be deemed a waiver of such right or provision.
You may not assign or transfer these Terms without our consent. We may assign our rights and obligations without restriction.
No agency, partnership, joint venture, or employment relationship is created as a result of these Terms.
